The worst part is that trees came down everywhere along the roads taking down power lines so we are without power and probably will be for a few days. It has been a chore keeping our generator running but at least it is saving the stuff in our fridge & freezer. Doesn't help much in the way of comfort us though. It is hot and humid and fans just blow hot air.
I am at work and the A/C here sure feels good. Hot as it is, I never knew how cold our water could be until this morning when I had to take a cold shower. Really woke me up. I won't be in any hurry to leave here today.
Hopefully today I will find time to check out some of your blogs to see how others fared. I am especially curious to know how Jenna at Cold Antler Farm in New York is after seeing reports of flooding in that state.
Have a great week everyone and I will check in and leave comments as I find time.
I'm glad you survived the storm, Odie, and I hope they get your power back on very soon. As a Florida resident I can testify that it's sheer misery w/o it. Stay cool, good buddy!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear you came through without any property damage. We have been through many hurricanes here, so I know what it's like. I do hope everything gets back to normal for you all soon. Good that you have ac at work!
ReplyDeletePLEEZE HELP MEE FOR GOD SAKE
ReplyDeleteReally pleased to hear that you survived the storm, my friend. All sounds pretty bad, I must admit. Let's hope that they get your power back on again soon. I can imagine how that cold shower woke you up!! Eeeek!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to hear that you are OK. We watched the news updates about the storm and have been very saddened to hear about the deaths caused by the storm. After our terrible cyclones and floods over here in Australia I said that Mother Nature needed to take a valium or something. Clearly she hasn't taken my advice!
ReplyDeleteTake care and blessings to you both.
Natasha.
Glad you're safe Odie! We made it through fine. Lots of downed trees and lost power for about 18 hours (we have NO water w/0 power-luckily I stocked up!) I think an earthquake and a hurricane in one week is quite enough!
ReplyDeleteYou have been in my prayers and I am so happy to hear you are safe. My prayers go out to those dealing with flooding and loss of all kinds. Big Hugs!
ReplyDeleteGlad you are safe and doing ok. Sure makes life interesting. Glad you have a generator for your food, that would be awful without that for sure!!
ReplyDeleteGod bless you Odie, praying power comes back soon!
Good to know you are safe.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad all went well for you and Linda. We had 60mph winds here years ago and it ripped up most of the trees in our downtown park.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are safe!
ReplyDeleteGood to know you survived the storm with minimal upheaval, Odie! Thankfully, you have a generator. A wise move! If you get too hot, you can always hop in and take another cold shower ;)
ReplyDeleteOdie...I have been watching and waiting to see how you fared! I was thinking about you as I know your part of the state had Irene's wind and rain longer than mine. I'm so glad you and yours fared well. I hate to hear you are without power but I'm sure we all would take that over the other tribulations a hurricane can bring. Prayers answered.
ReplyDeleteHugs~

ReplyDeleteRelieved you are okay! I only heard today how bad it had gotten down your way and hopped online, hoping to see you'd been around.
ReplyDeleteHi Odie, I'm so glad you and Linda and Rocky are ok. It's so awful not to have power, especially ac and hot water. Keeping you in our prayers!
ReplyDeleteSo glad everything is ok there!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you're all ok.
ReplyDeleteTake care and good luck with the clean up.
