A couple of weeks ago when Linda was on the way home from work she spotted a fawn in the road that had been hit by a vehicle. She stopped and moved it out of the highway and called a coworker who came and picked up the baby and took it home to care for it. It has two broken legs but is content to be loved on by whoever is offering care. This picture was taken at Linda's office and it was just happy as could be laying on a blanket.
Who knows what the future holds for this little one but at least it is experiencing loving care and safety.

ReplyDeleteGosh, I wonder how it got separated from its mother in the first place. I hope the coworker arranges for the fawn to get the care it needs to survive at a wildlife shelter.
ReplyDeleteOh, bless Linda for her kindness. I used to raise fawns when I was in college as part of my work and it was so rewarding. We fed them goat milk out of a bottle because that was the best for their stomachs. I hope he/she does well-
ReplyDeleteMom most likely had to leaveher baby behind since she was injured. NC has so many great wildlife rehab center, I am sure they can take her on or help you all care for her so she can recover and bre released into the wild. Let me know if you need any info ont he rehab centers.
ReplyDeleteThat's so sweet! My husband had a family friend, when he was younger, who would take in wildlife and nurse them back to health. He said they had a deer once who lived in their house with them (apparently they trained him to go on newspaper!) and the deer would sleep on the beds with the humans LOL Kinda crazy, but definitely a cool experience I would think!
