Local Native American Presence

Not far from my home is the reservation for the Haliwa-Saponi Indian Tribe located in Hollister, NC. There is a pow wow the 3rd weekend in April each year that draws huge crowds from all over the country. Other tribes come and compeat in dance and drum performances. The little ones really get into the spirit with the fancy dress and their chance to show off. My family has been many times and it is unique every time.
