Thankful Thursday

Hey there blog family. Today this old guy is so very thankful for all of my blog family who are all so good at showing compassion when others are hurting. I was overwhelmed at the responses I got concerning my daughter Rachel and her operation. Still waiting to hear how the operation went today and I will keep you all posted.

Also thankful to have a couple of days off to enjoy some quiet and special time with Rocky. It is 6 PM and it has been a good day. We managed to get outside and burn most of the remnants of Irene and then took a long nap in the recliner. I enjoyed trying to catch up on reading most of your posts today and will try to stay current during the long weekend I have.

Take care everyone and have a restful night.

  3. I'm glad you had a nice day and managed to get a lot done. Hopefully, Rachel will be able to rest her ankle so it can heal. Injuries that involve legs and feet are hard to manage...cause you have to use them while they are healing.

  5. Oh Odie,
I'm glad you are having a good day, one to re-charge and commune with Rocky. There are online sites where people (Rachel's friends and neighbors, relatives) can sign up to help with meals and driving, shopping etc. Here are a few: http://www.carecalendar.org/ and...: http://www.mealtrain.com/?gclid=CNaPraP52qICFQO7sgod7HN3yQ and: http://www.foodtidings.com/ I hope maybe one of her friends/relatives could use this as a way to get a care chain going to help her with childcare and meals and housework. I've used this for friends who are in need for various reasons. It keeps things in order and from being duplicated. And for everyone wanting to help to see the openings/ needs.
You all are in my prayers...Hugs and Love~

  7. It's always so good to hear from you and get these updates, Odie. Please give Rachel our love and best wishes when you speak to her and remind her that we are sending healing energy from around the globe. Enjoy your break from routine. It's always beneficial to have some downtime to recharge ones batteries and Rocky will be so happy to have your undivided attention for a few days. Big hug for you and Linda. Xoxo

  9. Hi Odie. I'm certainly still praying for Rachel and I hope that she makes a full and speedy recovery. Good idea from Sush above - what a great idea. She is obviously going to need some help, especially with those two little boys. This blog family of ours is truly wonderful, isn't it? Everyone is always so supportive of each other. I'm so pleased that you have been able to rest today with your little Rocky, and I wish you a restful and peaceful weekend also. Take care.
