Visiting Aunt Frances

Well it seems Aunt Frances is finally settled down and living with her daughter Judy and her son in law Bunky and if there could be an ideal situation this is it and we hope see will be very happy there.

I have shown pictures of this house before but it is certainly worth showing again because thanks to Judy these grounds are kept in perfect order.

When you enter the garage you see this sign proudly posted for her.

On the dining room table there was an arrangement of artificial flowers that was so beautiful so I thought I would get 2 beauties in one shot.

I understand this awesome indoor pool that is heated gets used just about every day by family or friends.

The three monkeys demonstrating that they neither see, hear or say anything.

What's a pool without a mermaid with her friendly dolphin.

Almost got my heel chewed on by this little pooch that apparently  does not like men.  Had to make sure I didn't turn my back on her for very long.

So many cute little pretties that made the house even more attractive.

One of the prettiest dressers I have ever seen in Aunt Frances' room.

Let's go outside and inspect the grounds.

The 3 dancing ladies encircling the fountain is a work of art.

This lady at the top of the fountain that runs through the garden area is always an attention getter.

One of her grandsons and his friend enjoying the cool water in the paddle boat. They were using kernels of corn as bait and were catching small fish and releasing them. Later when they were getting out of boat I noticed they were wet so I guess they also went for a swim as well.

I love being around running water anytime and this was refreshing to see and there were quite a few gold fish in there too.

Don't know what this plant is called but it looked so delicate and pretty even if it hasn't bloomed yet.

Hope you enjoyed the tour. It was great visiting with them this afternoon on such a beautiful day.

Afternoon with Aunt Frances

It was a beautiful day for a drive to Burlington where Aunt Frances and family were gathered by a lake to fellowship and catch up on family happenings.

While we were resting from our trip home Soffie came visiting. She still has that sleek look but now you can feel meat on her bones and she is one happy dog.

Lots of children in the family.

The young folks were enjoying a game of bean bag toss.

Carol and Aunt Frances. If you remember the pictures I posted of our vacation at the beach there was a lovely painting on the wall of a bird and a piece of drift wood with little birds sitting on it. Carol is the artist that did both. She is so talented.

Judy, daughter of Frances.

Update on Odie, Linda & family

OK folks we are winding this week down and only one more day separating Linda and I from our holiday weekend in Siler City, NC. Yep, heading back to the Celebrity Dairy for some relaxation and loving on some young goats. I won't be needing that coat this time around

As you may remember from a previous post Linda's Aunt Frances lives near the dairy in an independent living facility so we will be picking her up to spend some time with us at the dairy to give her a change of scenery.

Feel like I need to catch you up on some of the stuff that has been going on in my neck of the woods for the last week. My Aunt Katie spent a few days in the hospital due to a severe reduction in her level of platelets in her blood. It was finally determined that she has an infection in her stomach that was causing the problem and meds have been started that should correct this situation.

During her stay in the hospital my Uncle Lester was looking after Polly her dog and putting her to bed in the house each night. When Aunt Katie came home a couple of days ago Uncle Lester visited her and indicated he would not be back after heading back to his home which is next to Aunt Katie's. Well, Polly was outside and waiting for Uncle Lester to come back and put her to bed so she spent the night sleeping on his porch, unknown to him, until the next morning expecting the routine to play out as usual.

Yesterday Uncle Lester went fishing which is his only real pleasure in life as he approaches his mid 90's. While fishing he accidently caught a hook through his finger. Not having anything to cut the hook with he backed it out of his finger, barb and all. He got home and cleaned it out with peroxide so hopefully there will not be any infection.

Linda had a memorable week as she reached her goals at the rehab facility and graduated out to continue a series of exercises at home until she is allowed to return to work. Seems like forever since May 31st when she had her surgery.

8:30 and close to my bedtime folks so I don't know how much activity I will have in the next few days as we take it easy at Celebrity Dairy but I will try to keep up to date on reading & commenting on blogs.
