Warning - Rated R for Rocky

To say Rocky is a unique little dog is an understatement to be sure. One thing I have to say about our sweet little boy is that he is consistent.  He always does what he has always done.

He is of course fixed but that doesn't mean he has changed his habits when it comes to sex. We call him the man for a reason. A couple of days ago Linda's daughter, Beth gave him a little black stuffed dog since he had been wanting to chew on one of her prized stuffed animals in her room. Recently he had gone through his last stuffed animal that he had treasured for some time until it finally came apart.

We often say we pity the real dog that Rocky may ever try to get romantic with.  His version of foreplay is to body slam his mate from side to side numbers of times before giving it all he's got and amazing everyone that witnesses what he was blessed with. Like I said, he's the man.

After he has his way with (her) he then spends time cleaning her up lovingly and then he does what he always does by laying on the couch or the floor with (her) in his grasp holding her with his mouth for the longest time.  Did I say he was unique?

Eventually he will tear this one up to the point we will have to dispose of it and he will have to cool it for a while until a new chick enters the scene. Time will tell.

Hope I didn't embarrass anyone too bad with the details of his latest orgy. I just had to share this side of our baby.

Thankful Thursday

My sweet wife, Linda and our precious Rocky. If I didn't have these two in my life I would be one messed up old man. All Linda has to do is hear me say anything about something or somewhere I like and before long she has made arrangements for me to have an item or travel to the place I desire. She is always doing for or thinking about others and is definately my better half because without her I would be one sad critter.

Our little "man" Rocky the element that truly makes our house a home. His unconditional love to both of us can add calmness to the worst possible day. The only thing he really requires is love and we are overflowing with that for him. When we return after being gone for either an hour or a week he greets us with such enthusiasm that in the excitement he pees wherever we are at the moment so we do try to choose our point of contact.

So today I am thankful for my constant companions that make my life richer and full of joy.

Things I love

If it wasn't for the grace of God what would we do? I give Him all the praise and glory for everything good in my life. It is amazing how much he loves even me.

Linda is really my other half and she does so much to keep my life happy and on track. She has so helped me be the better person I hope I am.

Hard to find words to express how much my little Rocky means to me. Life is just so much better when I can hold him and share love.

I can tell in so many ways how my friends in the blog world have helped me through difficult times and brought joy into my days.

Anyone who really knows Odie knows that I am perfectly happy as long as I can hear banjo music especially if someone talented like Steve Martin is doing the picking.

I not only love to cook, it is therapy for this old guy. I can get lost in my cooking and recover from a bad day just preparing a meal.

My sweet wife can verify that one of my all time favorite times of the week is 12:00 PM on Sunday when "In the kitchen with David Venable" comes on QVC. So If I am not cooking I like to see others cook and demonstrate cooking equipment.

What man doesn't love his recliner, the remote and something cool to drink.

I love all of the Bourne series and have watched them over and over again & cannot wait for #4 to come out. Don't know for sure if there will be a 4th but I was hoping.

One of my favorite things to see is a green light because that means I do not have to slow down on the mission I am on.

And if it isn't a green light that makes me happy it is an open road with no slow pokes in front of me to hinder my journey.

I love the total experience you get while on a cruise ship being disconnected from the world and getting rest and a break from life as we knew it.

My daughter will love this one as Duplin Winery in southern NC makes some awesome wine and my favorite has to be Black River Red.

I love beautiful scenery and nothing is as striking as a reflective scene where you get the mirror image in water. I simply love it.

A Peaceful Saturday Morning in NC

Good morning blog family. We have had our share of fun with the last couple of posts and that is all good. Everyone needs to smile at funny times and I really had to stretch out on some of that craziness.

I have been reading through all the blog posts this morning and I am I happy to report that there was mostly positive posts all over the blog world that I follow and that makes me very happy. Of course there are friends out there that are still struggling but with a good attitude and hope for the better days ahead.

Rocky is so excited that the weekend is here and has Linda & I to hold him and play with him. It must be a really lonesome time during the week when he is here all by himself but I suppose he spends a lot of that time sleeping in Linda's recliner. We have to be prepared when we get home because he greets us and is so excited to see us that he pees wherever he is when we touch him. So, there is always a cleanup period after the greeting but that is OK because we love him.

Was sad to find out from a blog friend that John Dye died recently. He was a very good actor and a key role on Touched by an Angel, one of my all time favorite shows. I have spend many times watching that show and crying like a baby at the end. Must get that from my dad. I can still remember seeing him cry watching Bonanza. He was a softy and I guess it's in the genes.

Not much on the agenda here in chilly 30 degrees NC today. It seems to take something really pressing to drive us out into the cold these days but by the afternoon it should be warmed up enough to venture out and get some much needed sunlight.

Know without a doubt that each of you are special to me and have done so much to help me through what could have been a bleak holiday season. Your friendship has truly helped me and by doing so has helped my family and that is really a blessing. Thanks again & have a wonderful weekend.
Odie

Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful for our pets that add peace, love and calm to our days especially when the stress level has been really high. All they require in return is our love and they are beyond happy. Of course the first picture is my Rocky who will be 2 next month. He has made a real difference in our home and we love him soooooooooooooo much.
The other dogs pictured are part of my daughter Karen's zoo. She has 3 outside dogs and 1 inside dog as well as 2 cats that have their own room upstairs. Max her oldest cat is 16 and still doing fine. The black dog with the collar is Molly, queen of the house and a real sweetheart.
The kitten at the end is new to our home and is an outside cat that has done really well during our current blizzard. Her name is Lilley.
Have you hugged your pet today? You should, frequently.

Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful for my blog family specifically. I never would have thought back in June that I would be feeling the way I do today about life and Odie. Ordinarily I am a basket case this time of the year but through the helpful words of so many new friends I have met all around this wonderful world I am seeing this season through different eyes.

I have learned that it really doesn't matter what everyone else is doing, thinking or whatever concerning the Christmas season. All I have to be concerned with is what Odie is thinking and let this time of year be a blessing and it is happening. I have reached out to others and in doing so my life is better for it.

But the best part of all is that I intend to make this a life style change and keep doing it all year long so the gift will keep giving. Why stop a good thing?

Thanks to all of you who have helped Odie be a better person and I look so forward to 2011 sharing your adventures along the way. MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR to all.

It's Kleenex Time

I have a couple of friends in the blog world that touched my heart with a post each lately that I just felt like they needed to be shared. Each one has a posting of a precious letter given to them by their husband.

Barb's husband died but before he departed he wrote her this wonderful piece sharing how much he loves her. Read it slowly and feel the love.

Mel and her husband just completed one of many moves because of her husband's work and she received this letter from him and also needs to be read slowly and feel his undying love towards Mel.

I know they will touch you as they did me. Enjoy.

Thankful Thursday

Happy Thanksgiving everyone from my family to yours. My blog family is growing by the day and I am thrilled to be able to know you all and share in your experiences.

Today the world is filled with many emotions. Some are happy and some are sad as in the loss of lives in New Zealand. Lets rejoice in Thanksgiving for all the Lord has blessed us with but at the same time offer up prayers for the precious families that have lost loved ones this week. It's so easy to forget them while enjoying the food and family of the season.

I am so thankful today for my God, my family, my friends all over this wonderful world. May God bless you all today.

In Case You Didn't Already Know

This has been a good morning blogging and I have enjoyed some sites so much I just had to share with you. Can't keep all the fun to myself now can I?

First I found a link on one of my blog friends post that has truly touched my heart forever. It is a site where you get to meet children that are suffering from various illnesses and we have the unique opportunity to communicate with them and bring joy into their lives. Go to http://www.postpals.co.uk and all you have to do is click on one of their pictures and it gives you numerous ways you can bless them. I am already hooked.

Second I have a blog friend in Siberia that works with an orphanage and these are precious children that need to know someone cares. Go to her site and let her know that you are willing to do something. I plan to send her a package with small items and cards to give out around Thanksgiving. Go to her site please at:
http://creatingmyownlittlenirvana.blogspot.com After seeing their faces I know you will share my enthusiasm.

Finally there is a family in the NC mountains that gives the worlds best tours of the most interesting places I have ever heard of and the pictures are awesome. I shared this morning that I am jealous that they live so close to so many wonderful things to see and do. Please take time to visit their page if you haven't already.

I hope you all get blessed by these sites like I was and will continue to be. Happy Tuesday everyone.

Linda's in love!!!

Just look at the expression on Linda's face and the way she is grasping her hands. She is gazing up Stephen Freeman doing his tribute to Elvis on our cruise and she was sooooooooooooo enjoying his performance. The way he shook his booty, the hairy chest visible through the opening in his leather outfit. Can you just imagine?
Her brother is also a tremendous Elvis fan and has a "weinner" dog named Elvis and has Elvis stuff all over the walls in his home. We recently got him a neon lighted guitar with Elvis on it to add to his collection.
I thought this picture was precious and just had to share it with you but you really had to have been there. At times she was squealing along with the teenagers when he did the right moves. I am so happy she had that fun time to remember because I do love her.
