A blog sister needs our prayers

Many of you follow and know Annah over at When red means go. She is a wonderful friend that lives in Miami and needs our prayers desperately. Her precious Bruno pictured above has a condition that just came on him that now prevents him from doing all the things dogs love to do. Running, jumping, exertion, being on the bed, going up and down stairs, etc. My heart hurts for her feeling of helplessness at this time so it is time for us to have a conversation with our Heavenly Father on their behalf.

I'll thank you in advance for helping in this time of need for one of our close blog family members.

Exploring with Rocky

Looking back we had covered a lot of ground already. Our house looks might small from here.

We found some deer tracks that were all over the back field.

Rocky was checking out all the smells and signs of other dogs.

What a pretty sky it was. Now if we could just get some leaves in those trees.

Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful for our pets that add peace, love and calm to our days especially when the stress level has been really high. All they require in return is our love and they are beyond happy. Of course the first picture is my Rocky who will be 2 next month. He has made a real difference in our home and we love him soooooooooooooo much.

The other dogs pictured are part of my daughter Karen's zoo. She has 3 outside dogs and 1 inside dog as well as 2 cats that have their own room upstairs. Max her oldest cat is 16 and still doing fine. The black dog with the collar is Molly, queen of the house and a real sweetheart.

The kitten at the end is new to our home and is an outside cat that has done really well during our current blizzard. Her name is Lilley.

Random back yard pictures on Sunday morning

Rocky has company in our new member of the family "Lilly" which will be an "OUTSIDE" cat and is Beth's responsibility. So far all she does around Rocky is hiss at him.

Two of the 5 or 6 bales of cotten just combined in the last few days behind our property.

A field of soy beans that is beside the cotton field that was just harvested. Soy beans seem to always be the last crop to be harvested.

Rocky & I had a nice walk getting to the farm area behind our property separated by a narrow row of growth. Deer had made us a nice path through the brush.

Don't know how many of you are familiar with the Hickory tree. It is a very hard wood and produces the hickory nut. As you can see it has a thick outer covering and after falling from the tree it dries and opens up revealing the nut inside. The nut is also "very" hard. Many times I have used a hammer something hard like a cement block and would break them open trying to get to the nut meat inside. I like the taste but there is so little inside the effort really does not pay off in the end.
