The Knots Prayer
The Knots Prayer
Dear God:
Please untie the knots
that are in my mind,
my heart and my life.
Remove the have nots,
the can nots and the do nots
that I have in my mind.
Erase the will nots,
may nots,
might nots that may find
a home in my heart.
Release me from the could nots,
would nots and
should nots that obstruct my life.
And most of all,
Dear God,
I ask that you remove from my mind,
my heart and my life all the am nots'
that I have allowed to hold me back,
especially the thought
that I am not good enough.
Amen

CAUTION !!

Caution: In the future don't mess with A - Z challenges. It could be hazardous to your mind.
This challenge has had it moments but now that I am approaching the dreaded "X" I realize that my life has enough difficulties without adding the last 3 letters into the mix. I never wanted this to be a situation where I had to put something up every day whether I had a good contribution or not. Sadly that is the point have approached with this challenge. Therefore, I will go back to just being "Odie".
I am enjoying just being a part of this big blog family that includes people who are happy, hurting, confused, inspirational, lovely, encouraging, generous, depressed and entertaining. I see these as people who either are helping me or need my help in whatever little way I can. That is a pretty good combination and I know for a fact I have been helped along the way and I appreciate it so much.
Quitting is not a good thing but to be honest I have had "lots" of practice over the years so it really doesn't make me feel that bad as I probably saw it coming from the start. The good part is that in the whole picture I see Odie as being much better that I was when I started this adventure June of last year, even though I feel I am so very far from where I feel I should be spiritually & emotionally. So my friends, if you are saying your prayers, remember this old NC boy who could use all he can get.

A blog sister needs our prayers

Many of you follow and know Annah over at When red means go. She is a wonderful friend that lives in Miami and needs our prayers desperately. Her precious Bruno pictured above has a condition that just came on him that now prevents him from doing all the things dogs love to do. Running, jumping, exertion, being on the bed, going up and down stairs, etc. My heart hurts for her feeling of helplessness at this time so it is time for us to have a conversation with our Heavenly Father on their behalf.
I'll thank you in advance for helping in this time of need for one of our close blog family members.

Another Urgent Prayer Request For A Child
Above is a picture of Sanjay. He is a special little boy that is home schooled and friends with my friend Jamie Jo and her 5 precious children who are also home schooled. Sanjay has been very sick and you can read his story here.
He just had a very serious operation and we just got some results from his father that you can see here. Please join me in prayer for Sanjay, his family and the doctors that are treating him.

One of our blog family needs our prayers "NOW"
Hed @ Hed above water needs our prayers and guidance, compassion and loving words. She is bipolar, married, her husband is Australian living in Australia and she is in California with her mother. You can click the link and read her story to get a better perspective but it is over both of their heads and at a point where they need to let God do what He does best, take care of the things that we cannot.
She is sweet person with a disorder that not everyone can identify with so read her story with an open mind and a compassionate heart. Hopefully you will get the same desire I did wanting to help in whatever way we can reaching out in love.

Prayer Needs in the Blog Family

I follow quite a few bloggers and as I get to know them needs pop up that could use prayerful attention from the family. So here are a few for you to think about.
Lyndy over at "Giggle Fest" living in the UK has 2 children Holly & Jack. Jack has seizures and we need to lift him up in prayer as well as the family because it can get kind of crazy when emergency trips to the hospital pop up.
I am sure Skippy over at "I make soap" would want us to lift up her hubby "Pooldad" who is suffering with kidney stones and has been in a lot of pain.
Kim over at "Is this all there is" has her mom in a rest home and has had issues with her health and could use some prayers for both her and her mom.
Pamela in Australia at "Mountain Living" has had a number of health issues worst of all a fall down her stairs. So she needs our prayers for a sprained ankle, cracked rib, sore funny bone and bruses.
Keri over at "Creating my own little nirvana" is struggling with trying to get paperwork approved to adopt a little boy at an orphanage in Russia and at the same time wanting to relocate there to be near all the kids and needs our prayers as she tries to follow the Lords leading.
Please help me remember these friends in your prayers and if you get a chance and don't know them, pop over to their site for a visit. Thanks

First day of 2011 is almost history
Yes, the first day of the new year is almost over & it has been a restful day. We had our traditional blackeyed peas today cooked with a ham hock so I guess we are covered going in to 2011. I know the correct southern tradition calls for hog jowls which is taken from the head of the hog but I haven't been successful in convincing Linda to try it. I was in Lowes Foods yesterday and they had smoked hog jowls poslofgitioned all over the store trying to entice their customers to carry some home.
I was visiting at Kathieys World today and she had found a wonderful prayer for the new year that I just had to share with you. Go here to see the prayer and check out her blog if you don't already follow her.
Tomorrow is Linda's birthday & we will be going to a fancy restaurant in Roanoke Rapids for lunch to celebrate. I think it's the first time we've gone to eat at any restaurant that requires a reservation. Time will tell how good it really is.
It got up to 60 degrees here today so a lot of snow melted but there is still plenty especially in shady areas. At least Rocky got to have some outside time today which I am so glad of since he spends so much time inside the house.
Hope everyone had a great 1st day of the year. I am looking forward to having a whole year to blog and to get to know all of you better.
