With all that's going on Linda having the knee replacement, my Uncle Lester had a heart attack but under control and doing better at 94, the compressor on our heat pump gave out day before yesterday.
It was 93 degrees in the house when I got home yesterday to rescue Rocky. I got him up to Linda's mama's house behind us before going to visit Linda one last time at the hospital. She will come home to day but not to our home, her mama's home.
Last word was that the best they could do was have the part in by next monday so maybe we will be back in familiar surroundings by tuesday at the latest. The only really bright spot in this picture is that the compressor is covered under warranty so that will cut down on the total bill.
Linda was not doing the greatest last night as they have had a terrible time keeping her levels controlled. Her blood pressure was low and her blood sugar was high, that combined with all the pain medication has her feeling poorly in general. The therapy part has been doing just fine. I think she just needs to be home with Dr. Rocky.
Never doubt for a second how important you my blogging family mean to Linda & I. Thanks from the heart.
Oh, Odie, I can't imagine! Will be praying for a speedy delivery of that part! My DB and SIL's heat pump went out a week or so ago, but up until this week, it has been pretty cool and rainy here. Hang in there!
ReplyDeleteOh me, oh my! It's all going on for you over there at the moment, Odie! Stay strong my friend and know that all your bloggy friends are thinking of you. Poor little Rocky in that heat. I hope that Uncle Lester continues to improve, so that you won't have to worry about that. Poor Linda - it's horrible when they can't get the meds right. Sorry to hear that she's having such a bad time of it. Hopefully get this weekend over and things will look completely different again! That's good that she is going to her mama's house, as you will be out at work all day. As you say, being with little Rocky again will cheer her up no end, I'm sure. Take care.
ReplyDeleteThe strange thing about summertime in Florida is that it tends to be a little cooler than springtime. It is also cooler here than it is far to the north where you live. That's because we get lots of cloud cover and storms in the summer which hold temps down. I feel so sorry for Rocky having to endure that kind of heat before you got him out of the house. I will continue to pray for Linda's speedy and complete recovery.
ReplyDeletePrays continue for both of you! I am sorry she is such pain. Thankful for medication to get her through.
ReplyDeleteDr Rocky will be a huge help. I think dogs are a gift from God:-)
Hang in there guys....one day at a time.
God Bless,
Kathiey
Sorry to hear life is tossing curve balls your way :( Unfotunately, that does se to happen just when one is least able to handle it, yet somehow one does! My thoughts are with you, Odie. Just remind yourself that this, too, will pass! Stay as sweet as you are and stay strong. Hopefully Linda will begin to recover much better once she is home. Big hug for you both and a special pat and tummy rub for Rocky.
ReplyDeleteWow! I hope Linda starts feeling better soon. I'll pray for her. I'm glad you have a place to stay that will be cool when she comes home from the hospital.
ReplyDeleteRespite in temps predicted for today anyway! Thank goodness you all have a safe haven to retreat to. I will pray for cool breezes, healing hands and peace and tranquility for this weekend for you and yours.

it never rains but it pours!!! Sorry to hear that you have had more than your fair share to deal with. It sucks. Hopefully you, Linda and Rocky will all be back together soon. X
ReplyDeleteHope they get her meds right soon and you are back to cool air shortly.
ReplyDeleteGood thoughts and prayers are with you our friend.
Hugs and love to you both. Take good care of your girl.
pretty sure Rocky will help bring her up to speed again. the other side of that is I know our Father IS our Best Physician/Healer. you're both in my prayers.
ReplyDeletePoor Linda, I hope she is feeling a lot better soon. I also home the air will be working. I know what it is like in a home without air conditioning- I sometimes took cold showers to cool off.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness sweet Odie. So sorry to hear Linda has been having a tough time and now the compressor. May be time to spend the next few nights in a cool hotel with some rooms service,Hugs and Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteDoesn't sound like much fun for Linda or you! Thinking of you both and wish for speedy recovery and speedy heat pump fix!! When it rains it pours doesn it?
