The Dark Side of Odie

I think about my grandsons and how this planet is experiencing so much hatred and senseless murder that you never know where it will raise it's ugly head next.I am a pretty easy going type of guy but sometimes I just get fed up with what is going on and want to say "STOP".

One of my favorite movies on TV has been the series of Charles Bronson's "Death Wish" movies. I have watched some of them over and over again. Ordinarily I do not condone just killing anyone unless that person has, without a shadow of doubt, just did an act of horrible murder. That is when I rejoice with Charles as he takes them out of the equation.

Now this animal, Anders Behring Breivik, just did the unthinkable by killing those precious young people and others with his bomb. He admits he did it and says he did no wrong. At this point in time Odie is so angry, but not at Anders so much, as I am at the law enforcement officer that arrested him. That animal should have never left that island "alive". I would consider if an individual had killed him to be my hero for the day but now we have to be subjected to hearing him tell the families of the slain that he was doing what had to be done. This kind of thing has happened way too many times making us listen to months & years of nonsense while we house, feed and accumulate huge sums of expense on trials when there was never any doubt the person did the crime. That is my opinion and I wanted it in print.

  1. And did you hear that now they're making the case that he's obviously insane and needs more care? I'm thinking maybe he's not crazy; maybe he's just evil.

  2. I totally agree with you on this Odie. He has caused so much grief to so many. I have come across people who think their opinion is all that matters and that they are never wrong. These people are not insane, just not made the way the rest of us are yet the law classes them as insane rather than sane. It is so damn unfair yet I have long since known that the world is totally unfair and that the law protects the wrong people.

  3. I used to get very angry and upset about these things, but I have found it best to leave it with God. "Vengeance is mine. I will repay."

  4. This is why I don't like the listen to the news. Because it gets me so upset I don't know what to do with the feelings. And I am filled with despair because I'm afraid we, as a species, will never learn to settle our differences through non-violence. Sigh!

  5. We're right there with you Odie. This guy doesn't deserve to breathe our air. And so many others come to think of it. And then we end up paying for their care afterwards. WTF is wrong with that picture?

  6. Odie,
It's obvious that he's not insane. He knew what he did, and he knew that it was wrong. Let's at least hope that he gets put in prison and dies there. I can't say that I'd be sad to have seen him die before they arrested him, though. Perhaps this will lead to a "wake up" that the "terrorists" we so fear are also being bred right in our own countries and claiming to kill to "save" our country's values. Anyone can use religion as an excuse for their violence, not just Muslim extremists.

  7. Very strong post today Odie and I can quite see why you feel that way. My prayers and thoughts go out to all the parents and friends of all those youngsters that were brutally murdered.

  8. He killed children. Innocent young lives were destroyed. So many. But God will take care of him. Good post, though.

  10. I agree with you, Odie. What really upsets me is how little jail time he faces. I hope this will cause them to rethink some of their sentencing guidelines over there. I agree with Garnetrose- God's justice will be done in the end.

  11. Insane or not insane, he needs to be behind bars the rest of his life. I feel sorry for his cell mates.

  12. God will take care of him, what goes around, comes around.

  14. Odie, I agree wholeheartedly. I was just telling my husband they should NOT let him have his say in court. He should NOT get to give his reason for why he thinks what he did was right. I DON'T WANT HIM TO HAVE ONE THING HE WANTS. EVER. NEVER. AGAIN. LOCK HIM UP AND SHUT HIM UP. He doesn't deserve to be heard. He admits he did it...toss him in jail never to be heard from again.
    Nuff said.

    oh and hugs~

  15. Good post. I feel so terribley sorry for all those poor people who are affected by this atrocity. My thoughts and prayers are with all of them.

The man who carried out this act is not
    mentally ill but EVIL.

  16. I agree that there should not be a trial. There's nothing a justice system can do to bring this case to justice. Vengeance is mine sayeth the Lord.

  17. Such a sad & disturbing event. How terrifying. I cannot imagine being one of those campers. I was shocked to read the maximum sentence in Norway is 21 years! WHAT?!? Scary. I'm not a fan of the death penalty, but there are cases in which is would seem more than appropriate.

  18. Very compelling thoughts Odie. I guess, at this point, the best we can do is pray for those that are lost and their families while realizing that the murderer will get his one day.

    It is so terribly sad.

  20. My Auntie Dot was a devote Catholic...she always said, "God'll get them for that." I think that's true. I try and remember her phrase when I see or hear of someone doing wrong....

  21. I know how you feel Odie. I agree with you. I get so angry here in Durham people get arrested for various crimes and then are let out only to do it again or to do worse. When will the system protect the innocent. It seems the focus is always to protect the bad guys. I don't understand.
