Thankful Thursday

This Thursday I am thankful for birthdays. Today marks number 64 for this old guy and I can remember back when I thought someone in their 60's was really ancient. Now that I am actually living those numbers and being around my Aunt Katie who will be 103 in September my thought pattern goes from ancient to young as you feel. I can remember back to a time when I honestly thought I would not see another year but God helped me through that time and taught me that trying to make it through this life without Him is truly a lonesome experience and one without hope. Now I greet each new day with a joy for what it may show me and for what I may be able to do for someone else with God's spirit in me.

My Health

Lately I have read too many blogs about friends that are feeling horrible with what is commonly referred to as the "crud". It's also happening to many people around me where I live and work. I pray that any of you reading this will be better very soon if you are unfortunate enough to have this mess that has been going around.

I am very thankful that I have not experienced any cold or flu like symptoms for over a year now and that is not the norm for this old guy. I did start taking the flu shot last year and have been trying to eat better and take vitamins so I do not know what to say is the primary reason for staying healthy. I just know it is a blessing and I thank God for his hand upon my life. As the words to the song goes "Praise God from whom "all blessing" flow".

One of our blog family needs our prayers "NOW"

Hed @ Hed above water needs our prayers and guidance, compassion and loving words. She is bipolar, married, her husband is Australian living in Australia and she is in California with her mother. You can click the link and read her story to get a better perspective but it is over both of their heads and at a point where they need to let God do what He does best, take care of the things that we cannot.

She is sweet person with a disorder that not everyone can identify with so read her story with an open mind and a compassionate heart. Hopefully you will get the same desire I did wanting to help in whatever way we can reaching out in love.

Thankful Thursday

This is of course the month of thanks with Thanksgiving just around the corner and a time to think of the importance of family.

I sit here this morning realizing that there are so many people out there in the world today that literally have no one. No one to share their joys, faith, fears or love with. Not even God.

So today I am truly thankful for my God who has always been faithful to me. There is a song sung by the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir called "He' been faithful" and it talks about a God who even when we are down and cannot pray, He is faithful. He is always waiting with open arms ready to welcome us back into His loving presence.

I don't know how to put the song in the middle of this post but I guarantee if you go to youtube and key in He's been faithful and look you will find it and be blessed by it.

Right now God I thank you that you saved me, I thank you for the family you have blessed me with, for the extended family in my blog world. I pray that today you will be so very close to everyone in my family touching their lives with your awesome love and grace. Amen
