Happy Birthday Bouncin Barb

Aint she purty? And it's birthday time for the internationally famous Bouncin Barb of Myrtle Beach, SC. I was blessed to get to know Barb over the last almost 2 years of blogging and have laughed with her, been sad with her but mostly I have enjoyed just getting to know her.

The last twelve months had it's bumps in the road for sweet Barb as we all felt helpless to take her pains away both physically and emotionally. However, praise God, that is behind her and better days are ahead. She is on a new road now just having visited her son and granddaughters which she needed more than anything. She also came away with a new (to her) ride and can now get on with the rest of her life not looking back but loving life and making the best of it she can. I can't wait to read about her new adventures.

So Barb, know you are loved by many in all corners of this place we call Earth. Thanks for being our friend and allowing us to share in your journey.

Fun with the boys

Every year on or about the time of my birthday I have this gathering with my 3 girls so we can at least see each other and spend a few minutes catching up and enjoying the moment. One is fairly local, one is a little over an hour away and the other is more than 3 hours away so we have to pick our times and go for it. Usually as was yesterday, IHOP wins as the meeting point since we all love just about everything they serve and look forward to any opportunity to pig out there. Also, usually all my grandchildren are present but my oldest, Ashley, could not make it but my two very excited grandsons were present and being themselves. It all started out sort of normal until I too the first couple of pictures. Kaden deep in thought about something.
Matthew looking over his artistic masterpiece.

Now that they know a picture has been taken they want only special effects starting with Kaden
Kaden loves to have his picture taken and of course has to see the picture immediately after the shot so he can get excited about the next one.

Of course Matthew has to mimick his brother and get into the act. They are precious little boys and I love them soooooooooo much. They surely made the day for all of us.

All present were me & Linda, Pam (mother of Ashley), Karen and Rachel (mother of the boys). It was a good day to put it mildly.

Thankful Thursday

This Thursday I am thankful for birthdays. Today marks number 64 for this old guy and I can remember back when I thought someone in their 60's was really ancient. Now that I am actually living those numbers and being around my Aunt Katie who will be 103 in September my thought pattern goes from ancient to young as you feel. I can remember back to a time when I honestly thought I would not see another year but God helped me through that time and taught me that trying to make it through this life without Him is truly a lonesome experience and one without hope. Now I greet each new day with a joy for what it may show me and for what I may be able to do for someone else with God's spirit in me.
