I love to gaze at statuary, Odie. I'm sure you know that if you travel South of the Border you can find many awesome statues at Brookgreen Gardens, South Carolina.
The helmet on that soldier makes me think that might be a WWI memorial? I live very close to a revolutionary war memorial park. Those statues wear different hats. When I think of the Civil War soldiers, I visualize them with wool caps instead of helmets for some reason.
We have a war memorial in our city park. It is quite lovely with an obelisk and the names of all who died in the wars from Kelowna. One of the most beautiful I have ever seen was the one in Hawaii. I am grateful for our military.
