Who Would Have Thought??

Pinterest

A relatively short period of time ago I was introduced to the world of www.pinterest.com and my days are changed significantly. My first thought was that it was just a place that I could "pin" images that I wanted to have available to see any time I wanted. Turns out I was so wrong.

Not only can I save on display the images I desire but they are organized on boards so you can easily find them. You can have as many boards as you desire and as you see them they are not just boards to look at. You can look over other peoples boards and if you see something that interests you all you have to do click on "repin" and choose which of your boards you want it on and it will automatically be added to your board. But that is not all folks.

Say you are looking at a board and spot something you really like such as a fantastic food item and wish you had the recipe. All you have to do is click on the picture, it will get larger, click on it again and you are looking at the original source of that item in detail from the world wide web. And get this, it doesn't end there.

Maybe you are looking at a friends blog and they have this amazing picture, whether it be themselves, a vacation spot or whatever. When you set up a Pinterest account you get a "pin" and it is always available in a tool bar whenever you are on line. So you have the blog open and want to save a picture. Just click on the pin and all the pictures on that blog page appear individually. Click on the one you want and it lets you choose the board you want it on, click "Pin" and it automatically goes to your board without even being on Pinterest.com and takes you back to the blog entry. Could not be easier. There's more folks.

On my email every time someone likes something on my boards and repins an item I get an email letting me know and gives me a link to that persons boards so I can hop over there and see if anything is there that I want to see deeper or repin onto my boards. Yes, I'm hooked on Pinterest and have found many wonderful ideas, recipes, beautiful photographs, etc. Join us here.

  2. I notice that one of your blog labels is "addictive." That's the word for this miracle called the internet. You could explore all day every day and barely scratch the surface. Thanks, Odie!

  7. Sounds like something fun, Odie, but I'm not going to even take a peek as I really cannot afford to spend any more time at my computer than I already do...much as I enjoy it, of course :)

I hope you, Linda & Rocky have a WONDERFUL weekend!

  9. Odie - my friend, I can't tell you just how impressed I am with you getting to grips with this Pinterest thing! I have seen it around on other peoples' blogs for some time, and seen the wonderful images that they have found it. BUT, I just haven't worked it out yet. So GOOD FOR YOU, that's what I say!! I think it needs me to be able to spend a bit of time really looking at it. I've certainly been meaning to get involved with it. I'll let you know how I get on!!

  11. Pinterest is very cool! I used to "bookmark" everything on my internet browser, but that just never works out the way you imagine. Pinterest is great for keeping track of all the neat ideas I find because, since I can SEE what I bookmarked than I know WHY I bookmarked it in the first place LOL! And it's so much simpler than visiting every single site I've saved to find that one idea I wanted.
