Michael Anthony Where Are You?

I wonder how many are out there that remember the TV program that I loved so much in my younger days. "The Millionaire" was the kind of show that made you dream after seeing Michael Anthony hand a check for one million dollars to individuals that had no idea who he was or why anyone would give you that much money.
Today I was on a friends blog and was invited to pop over to her dad's blog and he posed a question. If I were blessed with unlimited funds and the ability to help anyone, who would that be? Some people responded "me" while others chose a spouse. My response was my oldest daughter. Some years ago her whole world came crashing down when her husband told her he didn't love her any more and was in love with her best friend. Since they were living in his grandfather's house she had to move out and be on her own for the first time in her life. She is a very hard worker but she has struggled constantly and surely could stand a break and I would see to it that she never struggled again.
I have lost track of the number of homes I have had built in various mountain settings with the huge sums of money I have received in my dreams over the years thanks to that program. Of course I also made sure my family was taken care of but most my desires were to make sure I had comfort.
That era had some good times and memories and today one of my favorite ones was brought back to life.

  1. You got me thinking about who'd I most like to help and I think it would be my sister Mary. She is a single mom, working two jobs to do the best she can to make ends meet. If I could give her unlimited funds or heck even just enough to pay her rent from month to month, I'd do it in a heart beat

  2. Very nice Odie. Your daughter sounds like a real trooper though. Women usually are.

  3. Your daughter must have been pretty shattered by his betrayal, Odie, especially as it was with her best friend. That, surely, must have been a double blow. Wouldn't it be wonderful to suddenly have money like that and be able to help the people who really need and deserve it. Good post.
