Across the intersection to my left in a left turn lane is a couple of guys with a car that won't start. They get out & one of them is pushing while the other has the drivers side door partially open getting ready to jump in and try to start it. He jumps in, it starts heading towards the front of us when for some insane reason he turns his steering wheel sharply to the right slamming into the front of the car to my left.
This caused the air bag to deploy and the guy stumbled out of the car rubbing his face. Not positive, buy he appeared to be under the influence. The light changed & Odie got the heck out of Dodge so to speak. He had missed hitting the front of the company van by only about a foot.
This happened Wednesday morning & I really felt sorry for the person in the car next to me with the messed up front end.
My goodness- some people should never be allowed near a vehicle, under the influence or not. I'm sending up some prayers for you today, my friend. Hope it all went well-
ReplyDeleteUnbelievable. You just never know do you? Glad to hear from you earlier and that you're doing well! Hugs to you and Linda.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you weren't involved, Odie. Your family has had its share of mishaps during the past year. Down here there are many instances of seniors stomping on the accelerator thinking it's the brake pedal. They drive through houses, store fronts and off piers into bodies of water.
ReplyDeleteYou have a strong guardian angel!!!
ReplyDelete(and a busy one!)
How are you feeling Odie?
goodness, a close call. Thank goodness it wasn't you he hit and hopefully nobody was hurt in the other car
ReplyDeleteAwe man, what a bummer for those people in the car next to you. Sure glad you weren't hit. I'd have gotten outta dodge pretty quick too after that, my friend.
ReplyDeleteOh dear me, glad you are safe!
ReplyDeleteYou never know what's going to happen out on the road! It's amazing to me we aren't all crashing into each other.
ReplyDeleteYikes! that could have been real bad. I'm glad you are okay, Odie. I also hope you are healing well from your recent surgery.
ReplyDeleteIt just shows Odie, you really have got to have your wits about you when you're driving these days. There are so many maniacs on the road. Do hope that your hand isn't too painful my friend and that it will soon heal. Try to have a relaxing weekend. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteGlad they didnt hit you, Odie...Hate to tell you this- but techniclly, you were a Witness to the accident and should have stayed and gave a statement to the police. Keep that in mind if it ever(God Forbid) happens again. (Would hate to see you getting in trouble for something you didn't know.) Have a great weekend!!
ReplyDeleteNarrow escape! I'm so happy to hear that you avoided any mishap.
