Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful for the "Word" of God. The best selling book of all time filled with everything we need for our daily existence. I also like the neat way someone came up with using the letters B.I.B.L.E. to mean basic instruction before leaving earth. How great is that?

No matter what subject you may think of the bible has teachings to cover it. If you haven't been in yours lately give it a try and let God bless you. A great place to start would be Proverbs. It is short and will give you such wisdom about how to live everyday life to its fullest.

I wanted to share a section from Psalm 19 verses 12 - 14 that was on one of my blog friends page some time back. It is a great way to start each day and is from the "Message" bible putting it into todays language.

"Clean the slate, God, so we can start the day fresh!

Keep me from stupid sins,

from thinking I can take over your work;

then I can start this day sun-washed,

scrubbed clean of the grime of sin.

These are the words of my mouth;

these are what I chew on and pray.

Accept them when I place them on the morning altar,

O God, my Altar-Rock, God, my Priest-of-My-Altar."

  2. Every day we are afforded a clean slate. Every day we manage to dirty it. Every day we are forgiven.

  5. Those are lovely words Odie. I think it's wonderful that we can start each day with a clean slate. Love Shady's words above. I've said this many times before, but you and Shady really are such wise, wise men and always seem to come up with just the right words. Take care.
