This day I am thankful for my sister Linda who gives up precious time each week at the early hour of 6 AM to meet me for breakfast. We have been doing this for a long time now and it has kept us closer and gives each of us an opportunity to share what has been going on in our lives and keep each other updated on stuff we might not know about.
She has helped me through some really difficult times and I don't know of anyone with more compassion for helping others than my sister. She helps in a really big way to look after our Aunt Katie who is 102 and is so filled with love for our Lord and "me". Love you girl.
That is wonderful. It is truly a blessing Odie to be so close to your sister. I was really close to my brother Dave. There was a huge age difference between us but when my parents were at the end of their lives Dave and I became very close, he became my best friend. We talked on the phone nearly everyday. He passed about 2 years ago and I miss him more then I can express. He was blessing to me as I am sure your sister is to you.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you both!
Kathiey:-)
That is great hun! I wish I was even half as close to my sisters! Glad that you have her in your life!
ReplyDeleteThat's wonderful, Odie! I often wish that I had a sister. I admire the two of you for sticking to your early morning breakfast routine. There are those who think otherwise but I am a great believer in the benefits of keeping routine, structure and order in my life.
ReplyDeleteSisters are the best and it's great that the two of you are really close and take the time for each other :)
ReplyDeleteThe minute I saw the picture I had a huge smile. What a lovely, lovely woman. She glows with happiness and good cheer.
ReplyDeleteSisters are the best. I love mine to pieces too. :)
Glad Aunt Katie is with you all and still going strong at 102!
Hi Odie. I agree with SkippyMom - your sister does look like a lovely, warm woman. Love that smile! It really is wonderful that you continue to meet up for breakfast like that. I am very envious. I would have loved to have a sister, but I am an only child, I'm afraid.
ReplyDeletewhat a great sister! what i wouldn't give for the opportunity to have a weekly visit/chat with my sister - any of them. one is deceased, one doesn't speak to me, and the other is 4 hours away. :(
ReplyDeleteThat's fantastic Odie. What a great sister. Unfortunately, I don't that have that kind of a relationship with my brothers so cherish is. She looks like a love.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you have a great time with her! It's nice to be able to meet and catch up with family!
ReplyDeleteI hope I can do something like that with my cousins after they grow up and out of the house. The ones that are still living close by at least. As they have gotten older it's gotten easier to be with them and have conversations with them. I'm stuck with my brother for life so I already make the best of it :)
