Thankful Thursday

This day I am thankful for my sister Linda who gives up precious time each week at the early hour of 6 AM to meet me for breakfast. We have been doing this for a long time now and it has kept us closer and gives each of us an opportunity to share what has been going on in our lives and keep each other updated on stuff we might not know about.
She has helped me through some really difficult times and I don't know of anyone with more compassion for helping others than my sister. She helps in a really big way to look after our Aunt Katie who is 102 and is so filled with love for our Lord and "me". Love you girl.

  1. That is wonderful. It is truly a blessing Odie to be so close to your sister. I was really close to my brother Dave. There was a huge age difference between us but when my parents were at the end of their lives Dave and I became very close, he became my best friend. We talked on the phone nearly everyday. He passed about 2 years ago and I miss him more then I can express. He was blessing to me as I am sure your sister is to you.
    Blessings to you both!

  3. That's wonderful, Odie! I often wish that I had a sister. I admire the two of you for sticking to your early morning breakfast routine. There are those who think otherwise but I am a great believer in the benefits of keeping routine, structure and order in my life.

  5. The minute I saw the picture I had a huge smile. What a lovely, lovely woman. She glows with happiness and good cheer.

Sisters are the best. I love mine to pieces too. :)

Glad Aunt Katie is with you all and still going strong at 102!

  6. Hi Odie. I agree with SkippyMom - your sister does look like a lovely, warm woman. Love that smile! It really is wonderful that you continue to meet up for breakfast like that. I am very envious. I would have loved to have a sister, but I am an only child, I'm afraid.

  7. what a great sister! what i wouldn't give for the opportunity to have a weekly visit/chat with my sister - any of them. one is deceased, one doesn't speak to me, and the other is 4 hours away. :(

  10. I hope I can do something like that with my cousins after they grow up and out of the house. The ones that are still living close by at least. As they have gotten older it's gotten easier to be with them and have conversations with them. I'm stuck with my brother for life so I already make the best of it :)
