King, step aside for the Queen

Many of my followers are also followers of a friend of mine down in the "Sunshine" state of Florida that we call Shady. He operates the "Shady Dell Music & Memories" blog that entertains us weekly with blasts from the past from the music industry.

We stroll down memory lane with Shady reliving some of our favorite tunes that were a part of our lives long ago and on occasion discover artists that we somehow missed.

When it comes to Rock & Roll we automatically think of the King, Elvis. Get ready for a shock. There was a girl that was around at the same time that broke out of the mold of other female artists & showed the world how to truly rock and roll.

Be as amazed as I was & click on the link above being ready to be entertained. If you have never been to the Shady Dell, this might encourage you to make it a frequent stop.

  1. I was amazed when I read Shady's post this morning that I'd never heard of her. What an amazing talent she is!

  2. Thanks so much for the plug, Odie! I'm glad you were just as impressed by the lady as I am. Keep in mind that she's "new" to me as well. I went through my whole life not knowing anything about her or the extent of her talent. That television documentary about her is must see because it's loaded with vintage clips and interviews. I hope everyone gets a chance to watch it. Thanks again for mentioning me and my blog, good buddy!
